(Industrial automation software company appoints its first overseas distributor)
 | | Ashley Tizard presents Guy Lee of ACE, Mauritius with his Prodigy training certificate | Automation and Controls Engineering (ACE) of Mauritius, has been appointed the first overseas distributor for Prodigy industrial automation software, developed by Tascomp Ltd. of Billingham.
Best known as a paradise island holiday destination, Mauritius has a thriving manufacturing industry with a growing demand for the sophisticated control and monitoring systems such software can provide.
ACE are well established on the island and are product distributors for a number of major suppliers. They became aware of Prodigy via the Tascomp website (www.tascomp.com) and after initial enquiries their Technical Manager Guy Lee visited Tascomp in May for two days intensive training.
A major benefit of Prodigy to them is that it can work with any make of industrial hardware and is not linked to any proprietary brand - unlike most competing packages.
As well as appointing its first overseas distributor, 2001, is proving to be a special year for Tascomp as the company celebrates its 20th anniversary and Prodigy software sales have tripled in the past six months. All the hard work put into developing Prodigy over the last six years is now starting to pay off as more UK resellers choose to make it their preferred software package for industrial automation.
Mauritius may be the first pin in the World map for Tascomp, but with recent enquiries from as far afield as the USA, Greece, Peru, India, Italy and Canada it certainly won't be the last.
